To learn more about the culture of both Latin America as a whole and the city of Cordoba in particular, fellow student Al-Jalil and I did a case study on the work of Togo Diaz. He was an important architect and his use of brick as an architectural material influenced the appearance of the entire city. We selected one of his projects in close proximity to where we were living at the time. Alcotra 50 is a mixed use building located on La Cañada and includes businesses on the sunken level and apartments above.
